About Friends & Fiberworks
“If we don’t have it, you
don’t need it,”
~ Lisa Mackey

At 4,000 square feet, Friends & Fiberworks is
the largest yarn shop in the Southeast. “If we
don’t have it, you don’t need it,” jokes Lisa
Mackey who opened the shop to promote
community and support fiber artists’ “habits
and addictions.” Lisa says raising sheep
inspired her to take up spinning, then
knitting, weaving, and felting. “We had all this
fiber and had to figure out what to do with
it,” she says. Crafting quickly became her
passion.
